Causes of mold in the apartment
One of the main causes of mold in the apartment is high humidity. This may depend on poor ventilation in the apartment. Also, if you live on the ground floors, humidity may rise from the basements. Very often, mold appears in the bathroom or on window slopes from moisture.
Another reason is joint leakage when building a house. Here the problem is already serious and it must be solved with the management company (ZhEK).
What does mold lead to?
The appearance of mold is not only not aesthetically pleasing, but also very dangerous for the health of residents. Mold spores cause allergies, chronic respiratory diseases (cough, sinusitis) and even cancer.
Elimination of mold by special means
There are special tools that do not require self-preparation. They are quite easy to use and can be found in construction or hardware stores.
Getting rid of mold by home methods
It is necessary to deal with mold not superficially, but purposefully. Therefore, forget about simply removing the top coat of paint or putty. Radical measures are needed here.
Hydrogen peroxide
For such cleaning, a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution is required. We apply it on a cleaned surface and wait 10-15 minutes. Next, remove the brush.
Peroxide brightens the surface. Be careful!
Vinegar
We apply vinegar to the surface, it is easier with a spray. After an hour, remove with a rag and rinse with water. Also, after this, ventilate the room.
Ammonia (ammonia)
Mix ammonia with water in a ratio of 1: 1 and apply to the surface. After an hour, rinse with water and ventilate the room.
Works best in the bathroom or on the windows.
Soda
Dissolve a teaspoon of the product in a cup of water, and then splash it onto a moldy surface. After an hour, the surface must be washed with water, but it is not recommended to completely wash off the soda solution from it: soda is not able to harm the material, but it perfectly protects against the reappearance of the fungus.
Bleach
Bleach is the most toxic of the presented, when getting rid of mold. Therefore, use it as a last resort.
Bleach and water are mixed in a ratio of 1:10 and applied with a sponge to the cleaned surface.
Work only with gloves and a mask.
