To remove shellac at home it was much easier to purchase special clips that are worn on nails, instead of cotton wool and foil.
Using foil
The most common and safest method is foil. By the way, this method is also considered the most inexpensive.
- Before starting the procedure, you need to wash your hands thoroughly using soap, so that shellac afterwards can be removed more easily. The same action helps to wash away any dirt and dust from the nails, which is why the nail polish remover will remove shellac in a more even layer.
- Then prepare your tools: you need to cut the foil into strips so that it can wrap your finger; if using cotton, then separate from the main skein large pieces with which you will cover your entire nail after.
- Now we begin to moisten each piece of cotton wool in the nail polish remover and apply it to the nail. From above, wrap the finger tightly with foil along with the nail. Do the same with the rest of the nails. Leave such a compress for 15-20 minutes.
- After time, remove the foil and cotton wool and remove the remains of shellac with a wooden stick. Then it is worth applying nutritious oil to the nail to restore its health.
Acetone
- The second method, which will help remove shellac at home, is similar to the first. Here you need more acetone and a small container, but so that the tips of your fingers with a nail can fit into it.
- Wash your hands well and dry them. Then the top layer of shellac, it is worth rubbing a little with a nail file, and then grease your fingers with a nourishing cream. After we lower the fingers into the acetone poured in advance and hold for eight minutes. If this time is short, then you can hold your nails for some more time until shellac softens.
- After that, remove the shellac with an orange stick and wash your hands. Then they need to be greased with a nourishing hand cream, and the nails themselves should be covered with nourishing oil.
Remuver
Thanks to this special tool, it is possible to remove shellac at home much more effectively than the above options.
- First, a moisturizer must be applied to the skin around the nail and the cuticle itself, and then a remover is applied to the nail itself. Here you also need foil, which you need to wrap a fingernail and leave for 10-15 minutes.
- After a while, the remains of shellac can be removed with a wooden stick and nail polish remover.
Warnings
Never use building or technical acetone. It can cause burns to the skin of the hands, and the nail plate to injuries.
Do not peel off shellac, as well as try to remove it with a nail file.
