The difference between hair tinting and dyeing
The coloring process consists in the fact that the pigment of the paint, which is rich in ammonia and various alkalis, penetrates into the structure of the hair itself. Thanks to peroxide, the composition penetrates the hair shaft itself, where it brightens the natural pigment of the hair - melanin. Thus, hair dyeing with ordinary dye occurs.
But tinting has a different effect on the hair. All types of tinting agents contain a minimum amount of ammonia, which already has a beneficial effect on the hair and scalp. In some types of tinting (firm) ammonia is completely absent.
Staining with tinting paint occurs in this way:
- The composition of the paint does not penetrate deeply into the hair structure, which allows melanin not to change its color.
- The coloring pigment affects only the upper part of the cuticular layer of the hair, which makes it easy to get rid of paint in the future.
