Advantages and disadvantages of ordinary nail polish
As we said earlier, ordinary nail polish fades into the background. It is increasingly being replaced by gel polish.
Gel polish is a special coating for nails, consisting of a mixture of ordinary varnish and gel. Thus, it has the properties of gel strength and gloss and beauty of the varnish.
However, not everyone is ready to completely abandon manicure with ordinary varnish. Here are some of the main benefits of regular varnish:
- Coating time. The time for applying ordinary varnish is several times shorter than gel polish. Gel polish must be dried in a special lamp for at least 30 seconds, and this should not be done with ordinary varnish.
- Freedom of choice. Here it lies in the fact that you are completely not attached to any particular style. A regular varnish manicure can be changed at least every day, unlike gel polish, the wearing time of which is at least two weeks.
- Less damage to the nail plate. When a manicure with regular varnish, as a rule, the surface of the nail is damaged less. Gel polish (especially the base coat) penetrates very deeply, and literally connects to the nail plate. As a result, it is thinning.
But of course you can not forget about the shortcomings of ordinary varnish. For some, they seem insignificant, but for someone significant:
- Short time socks cover. Of course, a manicure with ordinary varnish lasts much less than gel polish. However, there is one trick, thanks to which, coating with ordinary varnish will last much longer: On the first day after coating, try to exclude contact with water, or minimize it.
- Strong smell. Of course this does not apply to all varnishes, but many of them contain components that exude this pungent odor.
Use gel polish or regular nail polish - it's up to you.
The technique of performing manicure with regular varnish
Manicure with a regular varnish practically does not differ from a manicure with gel polish and is performed in several basic steps:
Step 1. Preparing the nails
At this stage, it is necessary to remove the old coating, treat the cuticle, sand and polish the nails.
Step 2. Application of the base
This is not necessary at all, but the base coat will help hide some of the defects and make the surface of the nail perfectly smooth.
Step 3. Varnish
The next step is to apply the varnish itself. Normal varnish is applied from the middle of the nail, gradually shifting to the edges. At the end, the end face of the marigold is also sealed with varnish.
It is better to apply 2 or 3 layers of ordinary varnish. So it completely covers the nail and the coating will last much longer.
Step 4. Application of the topcoat
This coating will consolidate the result and allow you to save your manicure longer. However, you can not apply it if you want to change your image every day or two.
