Pork fat has long been considered a very valuable and useful product. Someone likes to grease it, someone to smoke, someone to cook. However, we have prepared for you a recipe for signature salted pork lard, from which all guests will be delighted! Lard in brine (concentrated solution of table salt) is simply and incredibly tasty.
So you will need:
Lard (bacon possible) - 2 kg;
Water 1 L;
Salt - 1 cup;
Bay leaf - 5 pcs;
Peppercorns - 10 pcs;
Garlic 7 cloves.
Rinse the fat, dry and cut into pieces, crawling into the neck of a three-liter jar. It is not necessary to lay the lard very tightly, but to lay a bay leaf between the pieces.
Next, prepare the brine: Pour a glass of salt into the water and bring to a boil so that the salt dissolves.
After the saline solution has cooled, pour it into a jar of our lard and put the lid on top (DO NOT CLOSE. Air must circulate!). So the bank should stand for a day. After that, you can already close it and send it to the refrigerator for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, our fat is ready! Bon Appetit!
